During his initial assessment with Be Caring, Jeffrey shared that although he’d love to have a dog again, he knew it wouldn’t be practical. Recognising the emotional value pets held in his life, our Care Assessor contacted Wag & Company, a charity that arranges visits from volunteer dogs and their owners.
In September 2025, Jeffrey was introduced to Brian and his Dalmatian, Finley – the connection was instant. Jeffrey was delighted to welcome them into his home and said their visit brought back fond memories and “brightened his day more than he could’ve imagined.”
Now, Jeffrey, Brian, and Finley meet every other week for companionship and conversation, with hopes of enjoying a gentle walk together in the near future. Jeffrey continues to receive support from Be Caring to maintain his home, and retain his independence – he rated his care as Outstanding in November 2024.
