Working in Partnership in the Northeast

At Be Caring, collaboration is at the heart of delivering outstanding care. In the Northeast, our recruitment team has worked hard to create lasting partnerships with local organisations such as Work & Thrive and Winnovation, creating meaningful employment opportunities and enhance the support we provide and the impact on our local communities.

Here is a closer look at how our partnerships with organisations like Work & Thrive and Winnovation are making a difference in our community:

Work & Thrive

Work & Thrive, an initiative led by Newcastle City Council, is designed to enhance access to high-quality employment support and opportunities for all Newcastle residents. Since initiating our partnership in June 2024, Be Caring and Work & Thrive have orchestrated several events aimed at engaging and inspiring future care workers.

Johnson, a Care Worker who joined our Newcastle Home Support team, first encountered Be Caring at a Work & Thrive recruitment event at Newcastle City Library in August. His experience highlights the transformative impact of our collaboration. Johnson described his experience of the Work & Thrive event and Be Caring by saying:

“When I met Andrea at the Work & Thrive event she immediately believed in my potential. I was asked to speak about my background and when Andrea said she thought I had the right values and would fit in well at Be Caring I was very happy. Everyone at the event was very professional and I was impressed. I am grateful to Be Caring for giving me a chance and to the team for seeing and believing in me. When someone believes in you and gives you a chance it makes you want to work harder to show them why it was worth it.”

In addition to recruitment events, we’ve worked with Work & Thrive to explore ways to support neurodiverse job seekers and strengthen inclusive employment practices. These initiatives are pivotal as we strive to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to engage in meaningful work.

Winnovation

Winnovation Training leads in providing high-quality training for the Health, Social, and Early Years sectors. Their vision to support the care industry by connecting students with employers aligns perfectly with our mission, vision and values.

Our involvement in Winnovation’s Moving into Care courses and Learning Disabilities bootcamps has enabled us to connect with individuals at the onset of their care careers.

We facilitate ‘Meet the Employer’ sessions and guarantee interviews, offering a transparent glimpse into life at Be Caring. This collaborative approach ensures that job seekers have a clear, supported pathway into the care sector.

Care Worker Peace joined Be Caring after completing her training at Winnovation. When asked what her favourite thing about working in care is, Peace said:

“It’s when I am leaving for the day, when I’m going home and they’re happy and they’re like ‘oh see you tomorrow’ or ‘when next can I see you’, that gives me joy. That I’ve done something differently, that I’m making a difference in their lives.”

Making a Real Difference

Through our partnerships, we’re breaking down barriers to employment, championing diversity, and promoting equal opportunities for anyone aspiring to work in care.
