16 Dec Be Caring Celebrate a Culture of Recognition
Be Caring is celebrating its highest ever colleague advocacy score with 87% of colleagues recommending them as a place to work, a 15% increase on the previous year.
Each year we conduct colleague surveys amongst our 640 colleagues, to gain valuable feedback and ensure employee ownership holds real value in our organisation.
We’re committed to collaborating with our colleagues to ensure people are heard and have a consistent say in what we do, and how we do it.
Our latest annual colleague survey was completed during our end of year ‘Coffee and Cake’ employee engagement sessions – where we invited colleagues to attend our branch offices to share feedback, stories and celebrate their achievements whilst indulging in coffee and cake!
These sessions were also an opportunity to distribute gift vouchers, awarded to colleagues as part of our 3rd consecutive annual bonus where we rewarded 640 colleagues with a £50 gift voucher and up to £200 cash bonus.
During the sessions we also distributed winter safety packs, contents included a rain poncho, reflective arm bands, a panic alarm, a torch, and an assortment of wellbeing resources. The contents of the packs were suggested by colleagues through surveys which received over 500 responses.
By inviting colleagues to complete the survey during these engagement sessions, we were able to have reactive conversations with our teams and begin actioning their feedback wherever possible.
The results of the annual colleague survey show 87% of colleagues would recommend Be Caring as a place to work. This is a 15% increase when compared to the previous annual colleague survey, conducted during Spring 2021, and the highest of all our colleague surveys dating back the past 4 years.
Colleagues live our values: Be Proud
The Be Caring values were the outcome of engagement sessions with our colleagues across the business, where we collaboratively defined the culture at the core of our organisation. One of these values is to ‘Be Proud’, we’re honoured to announce 99% of our Care Workers agree their role has made a real difference to the people they care for.
One of our Care Workers shared this review on Indeed: “I have worked here as a care worker for just over a year. I have worked for other care agencies where you are made to feel like a ‘number’. However, at Be Caring, the whole team live by values. I have shared ideas with management who listened and being employee-owned means that you always have a say.”
Additionally, 98% of colleagues agree they have the training they need to do their job properly and a further 95% agree their work is valued and they have had the support they needed.
