Covid-19 Update

We know this is a worrying time for everyone, so we wanted to provide you with a Covid-19 Update

Our priority is that we continue to provide care and support to everyone who needs it.

However, the care and support we provide might need to change, for example, reduced call times, additional ‘pop-ins’, shopping calls, and working local volunteer groups to provide additional support.

Over the coming days and weeks, we’re expecting:

  • The people we support and family members to self-isolate
  • Our Care Workers and their families to self-isolate
  • Schools to close, reducing our available Care Workers and our ability to provide care continuity
  • Local services and community groups to close, potentially increasing the care and support that people need

While we cannot predict how and when these things will happen, we do know that we will have to do things differently and respond quickly as the infection rate increases and government guidance changes.

What we’re doing

We’ve been contacting everyone we support to agree any changes including planned reductions as the outbreak impacts our workforce and those who are self-isolating.
If you have not yet had this conversation, please contact your local office immediately
(contact details are below if you’re viewing on a mobile device, or on the right if you’re on a PC)

In line with the latest government guidance, we’re taking the following the precautions and actions taking:

  1. Any Care Worker, or their family member, who displays symptoms will self-isolate for 14 days.
  2. If any Care Worker tests positive for Covid-19, they and their family will self-isolate for 14 days. We will inform any person they have cared for and been in contact with in the previous 5 days.
  3. Care Workers will wash their hands every time they enter your house and as needed throughout the visit

If you or your immediately family is displaying symptoms, please contact your local Be Caring office immediately
(contact details are below if you’re viewing on a mobile device, or on the right if you’re on a PC)

We will contact you to agree any changes in your care but will continue to provide care, using the appropriate levels or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). All PPE will be bagged twice and labelled with a date for when it can be disposed with normal waste; 72 hours later.
